1.1 Installation on Mac OS X
========================================================

Please use Mac OSX's built-in Archive Utility to completely unzip the download zip file. We have occasional reports of installation errors that are caused by using 3rd party file compression tools to unzip the download file.

To install the plug-in double-click on "Install 2C-Aether Demo.mpkg". A standard OSX Installer will launch. Follow the installer instructions.

By default, VST, Audio Unit and RTAS versions are installed.
If you would like to install only particular versions read the installer instructions on readme page.

1.2 Installation on PC/Windows
========================================================

Please use Window's built-in Zip compression/de-compression tool to completely unzip the download zip file. We have occasional reports of installation errors that are caused by using 3rd party file compression tools to unzip the download file.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before launching setup.exe make sure it is located on the primary system drive of your local computer, and not on a shared network drive.

To install the plug-in simply launch setup.exe and follow the instructions.

If you are using a 64-bit OS you can install the 32-bit, the 64-bit, or both VST versions.

Note that in order to load the 64-bit VST version of the plug-in you must use a 64-bit VST host.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON DUAL 32/64-bit INSTALLATION:

a) You must install 32-bit and 64-bit versions into different VST folders

b) Your 64-bit host should point to 64-bit version VST folder and
your 32-bit host should point to 32-bit VST folder respectively

c) Settings and user files are shared for all installed plug-in versions.

2. Demo version limitations

The Demo version has some limitations. Please see the "Aether 1.5.1 Demo Version Limitations.txt" for details.

3. Manual
========================================================

The Aether PDF manual is extensive and offers many insights into getting the most out of Aether.  It is regularly updated with new information to reflect changes in Aether updates, and to add information that we discover is useful to users based on feedback we receive from them. The most up-to-date version of the manual is available here:

4.1 Uninstalling on Mac OS X
========================================================

To manually uninstall the product follow the instructions below:

A) If you have Audio Unit version installed go to
    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
and move 2C-Aether-Demo.component to trash

B) If you have VST version installed go to
    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
and move 2C-Aether-Demo.vst to trash

C) If you have RTAS version installed go to
    /Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins
and move 2C-Aether-Demo.dpm to trash

D) Go to
    /Library/Application Support/2C-Audio
and move "Aether-Demo" folder to trash

Note that the full version installer will automatically uninstall the demo for you, and these steps are not necessary if you have purchased the full version.

4.2 Uninstalling on PC/Windows

You can uninstall the product in two ways:

A) From Window's standard add/remove programs
B) By launching uninst.exe from the setup folder

5. Skins
========================================================

By default the plug-in is shipped with two skins:

A) 2C2D Berlin
B) 2C2D Indigo

To select a skin to load go to the "Info" page of the plug-in and select a new skin to load by selecting a skin name in drop-down menu that appears when you press a button next to "Change skin" label. The change will become effective once you reload the plug-in.
